Aftermath Of Winter Storm Seen Across Northeast Ohio

It didn't seem like the snow would ever stop.

What a wild couple of days it's been. At our home in Parma Heights, we measured 13" of snow in our backyard (no drifts), while my husband's car was buried in a 20" snow drift out front. A friend of mine was stuck in her car for four hours trying to get to work in Parma yesterday, and someone downtown made their commute on a snowmobile.

But this storm really packed a wallop. Cars were abandoned because roads were impassable, the RTA was not operational, and plow trucks could not keep up.

Because of all the snow, a lot of schools across the area are closed today to allow for additional clearing. Cleveland is working on residential roads today to get them cleared, so hopefully other cities are able to do the same. And luckily the RTA is up and running again.

Just because the snow has stopped doesn't mean we shouldn't still be cautious. There are still a lot of roads not cleared and the highway is still slippery in spots. Take your time today and be safe. And if getting to your car isn't an option, you could always try skis.
