We've all been there. You order a hot meal and by the time it's delivered, everything is a soggy mess.

One food start-up wants to do something to change that.

As people order food delivery more frequently amid the pandemic, many restaurants have been looking for ways to deliver high quality food with freshness in mind.

SAVRpak may have come up with the perfect solution. They recently unveiled a game-changing tool that helps prevent food from getting soggy on its way to the customer. They claim the patch will keep food in containers warm, crisp, and dry.

The new peel-and-stick patch, developed by aerospace engineer Bill Birgen, is designed to eliminate moisture from containers.

“SAVRpak was developed to save the quality of food, whether it's from a restaurant, in the grocery aisle, or in your fridge. Our patented patch keeps food tasting as crispy or crunchy as it would in a restaurant. When used in packaged produce – such as spinach or blueberries – it can extend shelf life by up to 50%,” co-founder and co-CEO Greg Maselli explained to FOX News.

The company’s patches can be used on takeout containers, boxes, and bagged foods, according to their website.

"We're currently in talks with several major food distributors, national restaurant chains, and grocery stores to help save the state of takeout and delivery and, hopefully, put an end to the growing issue of food waste," he added, though details about the startup's plans were not provided.

If it works, ordering in just got a whole lot better!
