Retiring Detroit Police Chief James Craig joined the JJ & JoAnne show Friday morning to discuss his retirement on June 1, and while he wasn't ready to confirm speculation he's going to run for Governor as a Republican, JJ sure had fun trying to get him to make the announcement.
Chief Craig has led the Detroit Police Department for the last eight years, capping off a career in law enforcement that started 44 years ago.
Chief Craig says his priority now is ensuring a smooth transition within the Department as someone new takes over. He says he'll consider his future plans then and make an announcement when he's made a decision.
