Keurig's $10M K-Cup settlement: How you qualify for money back

Keurig has settled a class action lawsuit for $10 million, and if you've purchased K-Cup pods for your Keurig in the past 6 years, you could be eligible for a small payout.

The lawsuit argues the cups say they're recyclable, but the foil tops of the pods are not. In addition, many landfills and distribution centers won't accept the material, in part because the pods are too small.


You can qualify if you purchased K-Cup single-serving coffee pods labeled as recyclable in the United States for household use between June 8, 2016, and Aug. 8, 2022. You don't need to have proof of purchase, though it will affect how much money you receive. Here's how it breaks down:

With proof of purchase, you can request a refund of $3.50 per 100 pods purchased, with a minimum payment of $6 and a cap of $36. Without proof of purchase, you can claim up to $5 per household.
