"Peanut" the chicken is 20 years old, and that may soon land her in the Guinness Book of World Records.
She belongs to Marsi Parker Darwin from Waterloo, Michigan in Jackson County. Marsi started rescuing chickens in the 1990s. 20 years ago, a hen laid some eggs, but one of them didn't hatch. She took egg down to the pond to discard it, but it was then she heard a faint chirp. She cracked the egg and put the chick with her mother, but the mom rejected the chick, so Marsi took her in.

Marsi says a friend urged her to apply to the Guinness Book of World Records. Within a couple weeks of applying, she received instructions on how to gather evidence including photos, videos, witness statements and media coverage. JJ & JoAnne talked to Marsi Tuesday morning about Peanut.
