It started off as a social media challenge between the Woodhaven and Allen Park police departments... and within 24 hours, 19 law enforcement agencies were involved in a friendly sledding competition, including Brownstown Township, Lincoln Park, Dearborn, Trenton, Taylor, Rockwood, Southgate, Melvindale, Riverview, Michigan State Police, the DEA and others.
It all went down Thursday afternoon at the Woodhaven sled hill at Civic Center Park... and in the end, the Woodhaven Police Departmnent and Officer Ryan Zimmers took home bragging rights with this victory, captured by photographer Joe Maroon.

Local businesses stepped in to support the community event, including donating sleds, offering dinner to the winning department and coffee for people taking part.
The event ended up raising $10,000 for local police charities!
JJ & JoAnne talked with Allen Park Detective Jim Thorburn about all the fun.
