Merrill Pittman Cooper age 101 dropped out of high school in 1938 because his mom had to relocate. It has been over 80 years and now Mr. Cooper has his diploma.
He received it with honor, "Jefferson County Schools is committed to helping every student, young or old, fulfill their dreams. For Mr. Cooper, that meant receiving a high school diploma. We are honored to help make that dream a reality."
