Plenty of auto history in Detroit. Remember the Packard Plant? The building has been vacated for years and is crumbling. There has been talk about taking it down. I bet desire for that space would make it happen sooner.
Of course automobiles were created there but also warplanes for World War II. If you're a local, probably older family members have history there. The car plant closed in 1958 and other businesses used it later. Located on East Grand Boulevard it's a historic destination in the auto capital of the world. More here.
