Another great escape in Michigan. We are the Great Lakes State and this goes beyond the Great Lakes. This one is called Lake Michigamme and is sized at 4,200 acres. It's inland at Van Riper State Park which is near the town with an awesome name called Champion.
It's a great fresh water lake good to swim in and build a sand castle. It even has a huge playground, 180 campsites, and good to canoe in. I'm glad I have a Michigan State Park entrance sticker on my vehicle. More here.
