I'm a huge fan of Van Halen. Wish I could of bought Eddie Van Halen's guitar that sold for a whopping 3.9 million dollars. If you saw them perform in 1984 you viewed the guitar. When sold in auction it was described, "one of the most iconic guitars of the MTV era as played by the most influential guitarist of his generation."
Glad that Eddie Van Halen did not smash it after performing in concert like some artists do. I miss seeing them in concert. I hear that Eddies son has power to not allow the remaining members of the group to reunite. Hope that's not true. More here.
