I see hawks often while driving here in Michigan. Many times they are on the median of highways. I usually spot them on M-14.
A hawk was hit by a vehicle on M-5. The driver noticed that it was stuck in the grill and still alive.
Police were called and the hawk was rescued, "Officers meticulously extricated the hawk by removing parts of the front of the car without causing injury to the animal or causing more damage to the car," according to Farmington Public Safety. More here.
