Wow, the Merrill Fountain at Palmer Park goes way back to 1901 when it was in front of the Detroit Opera House where Campus Martius Park is now,
Then was moved to Palmer Park in the mid 1920's where we see it now.
I've spent many days there not knowing the history. Land for Palmer Park was donated in the late 1800's. The beautiful fountain needs continuous maintenance. Detroit is very historical.
