Dogs are known to do great things. Here's another great local story about a K9 rescuing a 74-year-old that was lost in the Upper Peninsula with his daughter. Riding a bike off the trail in Hiawatha National Forest is not a good thing.
Fortunately there was phone service there and U.S. Forest Service and Michigan Department of Natural Resources was reached. Alger County Sheriff's Office arrived with a dog named Alger. Within 40 minutes they were rescued. More here.
