This is a great night adventure at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. They have a snow trail that will be lit up with lanterns beginning in February. Seventy kerosene lanterns are used. It's not common to do night hikes but this is enticing and could be exciting.

The snow trail allows skiing also. So grab your boots and or skis and head up to Ontonagon, Michigan., they do have a snow boots for use. The area has the nickname "Porkies" which reminds me of the movie Porkies. Another great Michigan wonderland adventure see more here.
