Ryan Seacrest got some wise words from the legendary Pat Sajak before taking the “Wheel of Fortune” helm.
“I can’t believe it’s real,” Seacrest told ET about becoming the next host of “Wheel of Fortune.”
The radio and TV personality will be taking over for Pat Sajak, the game show’s host for four decades, beginning in 2024. Longtime co-host Vanna White will stay on with him.
Seacrest gushed about Sajak.
“He is a legend. I’ve looked up to him forever. He’s so good at that job, which, you know, is a little bit of pressure here. But he just said, ‘You’re going to have a great time. It’s so much fun. What’s better than giving away money and doing that every single night?’” Seacrest told ET.
As Sajak is still working, the two haven’t really started talking about the transition of power just yet. He will also be staying around as the show’s consultant for three years, after stepping down from hosting duties.
“He’ll be bossing me around,” Seacrest joked. “Why not? I think he deserves that, yeah.”
