There are good and bad things about outhouses. Dropping your phone in an outhouse is bad. Falling in trying to get your phone is horrific! That happened to a lady.
She tried getting her phone after removing the seat and using a dog leash. Imagine the splash and smell. She was fortunate to access her phone and call a fire department for rescue.
They hosed her off and then she was, "strongly encouraged to seek medical attention after being exposed to human waste." Also mentioned how fortunate she was, "extremely fortunate not to be overcome by toxic gases or sustain injury." More here.
