
Prince George's County Fire Department made history when it welcomed its very first female Fire Chief. Now it's gaining more attention thanks to a viral photo highlighting the all female fire rescue team.
County Executive Angela Alsobrooks shared the photo on Twitter with the caption "Please join me in welcoming our newest "sheroes" to our Fire/EMS Dept, who graduated earlier this month! #BlackGirlMagic"
It features eight women firefighters all posing in front of a brick building wearing their rescue uniforms.
There's no denying the power of the photo as it highlights the #blackgirlmagic that is now beaming throughout the department.
The tweet quickly gained traction as it garnered 252 retweets and 677 likes.
Many commenters chimmed in to share their support as well.
Prince George's County Fire Department expressed similar sentiments in a reply Tweet.
"The #pgfd couldn’t be more #PrinceGeorgesProud to have these & all of the recent @pgfd_training CRS Class #60 graduates join the department!" it wrote in a tweet.
