
We're all in this together... and supermarkets and stores in the DMV are doing their part to accommodate seniors and other people most at-risk during the coronavirus pandemic.
Here is a list of who's doing what and when:
Balduccis
Special hours: Every day, 7 to 8 a.m.
Costco
Special hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 to 9 a.m. (Shoppers 60 and older & other at-risk groups)
Fresh Market
Specal hours: Weekdays, 8 to 9 a.m.
Giant Food **UPDATE: New hours of operation as of March 27. Most stores open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Stores open 24 hours will remain open 24 hours. Special hours: Every day, 6 to 7 a.m. (Shoppers 60 and older & other at-risk groups)
Harris Teeter
Special hours: Mondays and Thursdays, 6 to 7 a.m. (Shoppers 60 and older)
In addition, Harris Teeter will designate ExpressLane Online Shopping pick-up times from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for seniors only every Thursday.
Safeway
Special hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 to 9 a.m.
Target
Special hours: Wednesday, 8 to 9 a.m. (Shoppers 65 and older & other at-risk groups)
**Stores will also close at 9 p.m. (One hour early)
Trader Joes
Special hours: All stores open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (No special senior hours at this time)
Walgreens
Special hours: Tuesdays, 8 to 9 a.m. (Shoppers 55 and older & other at-risk groups)
Wal-Mart
Special hours: Tuesdays, 6 to 7 a.m. (Shoppers 60 and older & other at-risk groups)
Wegmans
Special hours: Stores in Maryland and Virginia now open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (No special senior hours at this time)
