Black Business Month is celebrated annually in August to acknowledge and appreciate Black-owned businesses and their contributions to our economy. Approximately 10% of all-Americanbusinesses are Black-owned, according to National Today. The primary industries in which Black-owned businesses operate include healthcare, social work, repair and maintenance, beauty
salons, restaurants and more.

Guy sat down with Mr. Ade Odutola who is the founder and CEO of Solvitur System. The company is a minority owned business specializing in IT Consulting. Mr. Odutola described how running a business in this time of high inflation can be challenging. His other key suggestion to other minority business owners, was that they must figure out how to cut their
costs and at the same time, show their direct clientele how they can accomplish this. Our friends at JP Morgan Chase helped Mr. Odutola gain his success as an owner, with bi-weekly meetings with his mentor from their Business Management Program Team.

Mikal Quarles is one of the people that can get you started with your minority owned business. He is the Managing Director, Head of Racial Equity Strategies, Business Banking at JP Morgan Chase. Mr. Quarles believes that it is important for business owners to be aware of the rising costs facing them to properly own and manage their own business. Mr. Quarles and his team
can also help you be mindful and help business owners keep track of the numbers that are important to their business. While Black Business Month is highlighted in the month of August, JPMorgan Chase is here to help you all year with several initiatives that directly assist the African American Community.
