Guy About Town

With the holiday season right around the corner our partners at JPMorgan Chase want to teach you about financial health and proper budgeting. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, 44% of Black Americans said that either they or someone in their family has experienced a job or wage loss due to COVID. In these situations, and with the holiday's approaching it is critical to know how to manage your finances to stay or get back on track.

Jua Williams, Branch Manager from Chase Skyland Town Center says that the most important thing to do is to budget for your holiday spending. The one everyday tool that can track your spending is your cellphone. There are multiple apps to help you track your spending throughout the day.

The overall goal that consumers should work to achieve is not let all of the hard work done throughout the year in managing your finances go to waste in over spending for the holidays. The average person will spend an estimated $650 in gifts followed by another $230 in non-gift holiday items.

Did you know JPMorgan Chase offers financial classes at their branch locations? Leticia Newman & her family recently took a financial health class at Chase Skyland Town Center where she was taught a very simple way to save $5,000 in 6 months. This class helped her son purchase his first home and car on his very own. JPMorgan Chase wants to teach you that its never too late and never too early to get your family on the right financial plan.
