Maternal Health Equity needs to happen NOW!
If "walking testimony" was a person it would be Ebony Ford! This woman's story is like none you've ever heard and to be able to have this conversation and share it with you Village means everything! Tap in as we talk about her near death experiences leading up to and during the birth of her daughter, maternal health, implicit bias in healthcare, grief, feeling broken, health equity, not being okay and throughout everything trusting God.... whew!
Ebony Ford is a DMV native, a devoted wife of 9 years, mother of a medically-fragile micro-preemie named Reign Victoria, peer NICU mentor, maternal health advocate, an Ambassador for March of Dimes as well as the face of their "It's Not Fine" maternal health campaign and is 2021’s Capitol Region March For Babies ambassador. As a survivor of severe preeclampsia and Class I HELLP Syndrome, Ebony has made it her life's mission to uncover the implicit bias and systemic racism at the core of our country's maternal health crisis in hopes of saving the lives of the marginalized. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Clinical Psychology from Liberty University and plans to enroll in graduate Forensic Psychology courses in the fall of 2021. Yes and Amen!
