Chloe - Treat Me
Chloe Bailey is back with another single, following her first solo track “Have Mercy.” Her catchy new record “Treat Me” is the second offering from her anticipated debut project. The chorus samples Bubba Sparxx’s 2006 “Ms New Booty.” On “Treat Me,” Chloe is stepping into her own lane as a genre-blending artist.
Fivio Foreign & Queen Naija ft. Coi Leray - What’s My Name
Fivio Foreign put his signature touch on “What’s My Name” with Queen Naija and Coi Leray. The Destiny’s Child inspired track appears on his new project B.I.B.L.E. Interestingly, the NY rapper had to clean up the record in order to get the sample cleared by Beyoncé. “She heard it. It was a little vulgar, a little bit for her, at first,” he revealed in a recent interview. “I cleaned it up, I cleaned it up a lot.”
Lil Baby - Right On
After collaborating with a ton of artists, most recently with Nicki Minaj on “Bussin” and “Do We Have A Problem?,” Lil Baby released a new solo record titled “Right On.” Billboard describes the chorus as “anthemic” and “full of mini-catchphrases.” “Slide my Rolls-Royce through the hood, that s*** look good like right on,” he raps on the ATL Jacob-produced track.
Coco Jones - Caliber
Singer and actress Coco Jones showcases her vocal ability on “Caliber.” The new single is the first track from her forthcoming debut EP, slated to drop later this year. “My music is a love letter to my journey, and who I’ve become,” she said in a statement. “Caliber” is a mid-tempo record with a Trap Soul feel.
BIA ft. J. Cole - London
It’s the duo we didn’t know we needed! BIA teams up with J. Cole on “London.” Before adding his verse, Cole revealed that he was “blown away” by BIA’s original cut of the record. “When the thought and conversation came up about me adding a verse, I was excited but genuinely nervous cuz [because] I didn’t even see how the song could be better after what she did to it,” he captioned a recent Instagram post.
FLO - Cardboard Box
UK girl group FLO dropped their debut single “Cardboard Box” and it’s a banger! The trio are influenced by iconic artists such as Mary J Blige, Aaliyah, and Mariah Carey. “So I'ma put your shit in a cardboard box. Changing my number and I'm changing the locks,” the group harmonizes on the chorus. The MNEK-produced hit is a breezy mashup of Pop and R&B.
Laya - Crazy Down
Laya effortlessly blends Brandy’s 1994 breakout single “I Wanna Be Down” and Missy Elliott’s 1999 record “Crazy Feelings” featuring Beyoncé. The reimagined song titled “Crazy Down” appears on Laya’s debut EP Um, Hello. “Crazy Down” has a nostalgic feel with reworked lyrics. Furthermore, the track is the epitome of sexy and smooth.
