South Florida lost a hero earlier this week. At the age of 90, Don Shula died Monday in the city that admired him most.

Shula’s career was defined by one word: winning. The winningest head coach of all time with 347 total victories. A 2-time Super Bowl champion. A member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 1997. The only head coach to lead his team to an undefeated regular season AND post season.

The coaching legend will forever be remembered not only for what he accomplished as a 33-year head coach but as well as the lasting impact he had on the South Florida community. There is zero doubt he would be on the Mt. Rushmore of South Florida sports figures.
