On a day where much of the attention was on the Class of 2021 at the annual Rivals Camp stop in south Florida, some local underclassmen also made an impression.
As over 200 elite football prospects had the chance to showcase their skills at Milander Park in Hialeah, coaches and former NFL players evaluated talent – many who have multiple offers and have long been on the radar screen.
Among the underclassmen who turned heads included Class of 2022 lineman Julian Armella (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), running back Anthony Hankerson (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), defensive back Trevell Mullen (Coconut Creek) and Monsignor Pace defensive end Shemar Stewart, and Fort Lauderdale University School Class of 2023 receiver Brandon Inniss.
For Inniss, who will begin his third year as a varsity starter is an elite football player. This quality athlete, who plays four different positions for head coach Daniel Luque’s Sharks, is indeed someone that every football fan, player and coach already knows about.
When many hear that he is only going to be a sophomore, it is something that is truly hard to comprehend. He has dominated at the varsity level since the 8th grade – and as a 7-on-7 performer since the 7th grade.
There is no doubting that this is easily one of the nation’s top players – regardless of class.
Another of the prospects who attended on Sunday was Plantation American Heritage Class of 2023 quarterback Blake Murphy.
Here’s another amazing talent who was a tremendous youth prospect who simply has made quite a splash for head coach Pat Surtain and his Patriots.
As he learned this past season from senior Edwin Rhodes, he is now ready to jump into the starting role and keep this successful program on top.
“I have worked hard and really learned a lot,” Murphy said. “This is my time to get in there and lead this team. I’m very excited about the future of our program.”
