
There's an update to the story on the Oklahoma high school basketball announcer that got caught using the N-word in reference to a players kneeling during the national anthem, and somehow it gets even worse.
Ahead of a high school playoff game Thursday, Matt Rowan of the National Federation of High Schools Network used the racial slur after he saw some from Norman peacefully protesting during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner.
Friday evening, Rowan attempted to apologize, but as part of an eight-paragraph explanation, the embattled announced cited his spiking blood sugar as what may have led to the racism:
Earlier in the day, Rowan had denied being the voice heard using the disgusting slur.
Rowan apparently owns OSPN Live, which was used to telecast the game Thursday night. So, this probably isn't a situation where he'll be fired. However, it seems especially unlikely that any national networks would work with Rowan or his service going forward.
