The Florida Panthers made a big splash in the offseason adding the unicorn Matthew Tkachuk. The new Cats attitude was noticeable in their first game of the season. Patric Hornqvist lit the lamp for Florida. Tkachuk after getting close all night, capped off the 3-1 win over the Islanders with an empty net goal. He said after the game he's already feeling the team gel together and they need to start playing like their state rivals in Tampa Bay "Guys were going crazy for block shots with 30 seconds...All we have to do is look at what Tampa's done the last couple of years. Three, four, five years ago they were run and gun, lots of offense and never won but all the sudden they change the way they play a little bit and their skill still comes out," said Tkachuk. Panthers will try and keep it rolling on Saturday in Buffalo at 1:00PM
