PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Three Steelers moved from questionable to out for Sunday’s game against Indianapolis.
Kicker Chris Boswell along with linebackers Ola Adeniyi and Marcus Allen won’t play due to injury.
Boswell is suffering again with a groin injury and replaced by Matthew Wright for a second time. Wright was active against Washington a couple of weeks ago and made all three kicks including a 37-yard field goal. The all-time points leader at Central Florida doesn’t have a strong leg and Mike Tomlin didn’t have confidence in him in Week 13 to attempt a 45-yarder.
Linebacker Marcus Allen has played starter snaps the last couple of games due to injuries to Robert Spillane and Devin Bush and then Vince Williams landing on the COVID list. Allen suffered a stinger against Cincinnati as the team signed linebacker Tegray Scales to the 53-man roster on Saturday.
To make room, the team waived offensive lineman Derwin Gray, this as guard Kevin Dotson has been cleared to return and will start at left guard for Matt Feiler.
Outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi is the top back-up on both sides. Steelers have Cassius Marsh and Jayrone Elliott as other outside backers. Both have spent time on the practice squad, Marsh played in three games with Indianapolis earlier this year.
