Heat fans should stay out of Dwyane Wade’s pockets

After his retirement from the NBA in 2019, three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade made it clear he would be interested in becoming a part-owner of an NBA franchise.

In a perfect world, the Miami Heat – where Wade spent 15 of his 17 seasons in the NBA – would be where Wade found that opportunity.
However, on Friday, Wade announced he would be purchasing an ownership stake in the Utah Jazz.

Wade told ESPN: "I've seen Shaq do it in Sacramento. I've seen Grant Hill do it in Atlanta. I've seen Jordan do it in Charlotte. If this partnership is going to be anything like my relationship is with Ryan, there are going to be a lot of things that I'll want to be involved in.”

Heat owner Micky Arison congratulated Wade on twitter and added he “had discussed having him join our ownership group after his retirement but he was not prepared to commmit at the time. Of course I am disappointed that he didn’t reconsider.”

Arisons tweet left several Heat fans on social media upset at Wade, feeling like he was turning his back on the franchise that drafted him back in 2003. Hoch and Crowder opened their show Friday by addressing the notion that Wade was disrespecting Heat fans or the Heat franchise:
