The Phillies are signing 36-year-old right-handed relief pitcher Brandon Kintzler, first reported by ESPN's Jesse Rogers. The deal is reportedly for one-year, worth $3 million if he makes the team.
"Kintzler turned down a ML offer to return to the Marlins but can make more in Philly if he makes the team," Rogers tweeted.
Jon Heyman has confirmed Rogers' reports, adding that Bryce Harper helped in bringing Kintzler to Philly.
Kintzler has a 3.31 ERA in 448.2 career innings pitched. Last season, he was 2-3 with a 2.22 ERA and 12 saves in 24.1 innings pitched with the Marlins.
