It appears that for the second time in three years, veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy will be leaving the New England Patriots to join another AFC team.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Van Noy is meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers Thursday, and "if all goes well, there is a good chance he signs." USA Today's Tyler Dragon took things a step further, saying "he's expected to sign a contract with the team."
Following a season with the Miami Dolphins, Van Noy returned to New England in 2021, having previously played for the Patriots from 2016 to 2019. Van Noy had 42 solo tackles in his second go-round with the Patriots, adding 10 pass deflections, five tackles for a loss and an interception.
While Van Noy would be heading to perhaps the most loaded division in league history if he joined the Chargers, they checked in at No. 6 on our most recent NFL Power Rankings. It stands to reason that Van Noy, now 31, could compete for his third Super Bowl title with the Chargers.
