Get your family ready for the new school year at The Great HeadStart Back to School Event on Sunday, August 9, 2026! This free community event is designed to help students head back to the classroom with confidence by providing essential resources, free services, and a day of family-friendly fun.
Attendees will have access to free basic hair styles, eyebrow waxing, school supplies (while supplies last), and complimentary food and drinks. Whether you're preparing your child for the first day of school or simply looking to connect with valuable community resources, this event is a great opportunity to get the school year started on the right foot.
The event takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Neil Bolton Home & Garden Building, located at 421 27th Street NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
The Great HeadStart Back to School Event is presented by Corey Pauls Hair Studio in partnership with Mayor Allen Joines, with support from CKOR Community Focus Group.
Admission is FREE, but registration is encouraged.
