It turns out video games aren't just rotting our brains away.

In fact, new research has concluded quite the opposite. A study from Oxford University has found that playing four hours of video games every day is actually good for your mental health.

The study, which focused on people playing Nintendo’s "Animal Crossing" and EA’s shooter "Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville," found that people who played more games tended to report greater “wellbeing,” reports The Guardian.

The researches only looked at the two all-ages video games, and relented that other modes of play could prove to be less "wholesome."

Still, lead researcher Andrew Przybylski says the study shows that "if you play four hours a day of 'Animal Crossing', you’re a much happier human being."
