The Batailles of the Diaspora " Round Two" The Batailles of the Diaspora: Round 2 is an event that brings together Artists from different respectful fields, local vendors, and the community for an evening of cultural exchange, community engagement and cultural dialogue. This event combines a dance competition that highlights African dance and other dance forms related to the Diaspora (going beyond breakdancing and hip-hop), building visibility for Hartford artists who would not be able to showcase themselves to this degree, and consequently hired, for additional artistic employment. The Batailles of the Diaspora engages the audience and participants in facilitated dialogue exploring cultural identity, representation in the arts, and community connection within the African Diaspora.
