The weather last week pushed the St. Patrick’s Day-themed ‘Johnny’s Jog for Charity’ 5K to this Sunday at 10:30am in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square.  Back live after 2 years of virtual!  Participants can run or walk at their own pace for the 3.1-mile course, accompanied by bagpipers as well as the local bands “Acoustic Marshpit” and “MARMO.”  Plus, gather together for other activities after the race including Irish Step dancers and so much more!

The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum in Wethersfield is hosting an exclusive pop-up meal experience on Saturday that blends Caribbean flavors and historic artifacts from the museum. Attendees will get to enjoy live music, a delicious four-course meal and a tour of the museum.

As temps continue to get warmer, consider any of these great ways to get outside and enjoy spring in Connecticut:

Hike a noteworthy trail in any of Connecticut’s 110 state parks and 32 state forests. There is also the Last Green Valley, a national heritage corridor spanning 26 towns in Eastern Connecticut. It’s annual “Spring Outdoors” program featuring walks and other outdoor events, kicks off this Sunday.  The Appalachian Trail, which runs through Kent. It’s one of the few long flat parts of the famous trail and it provides ample opportunities to enjoy natural beauty and spot wildlife.   Or, if outdoor art walks are more your vibe visit The Knowlton in Bridgeport featuring an outdoor mural park with magnificent, photo-worthy creations by Connecticut area artists.

Also, the Wall to Wall Mural Walk in New London, featuring 16 murals, drawings and other large-scale installations throughout the city.
