September means LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations in Hartford with events scheduled for Saturday, 12pm to 6pm on Church Street in Downtown Hartford, the Annual Hartford Pride Fest and Concert kicks off with a family-centered event showcasing entertainment, food, local businesses, giveaways, activities, and numerous community organizations. During the day, a concert will feature Thelma Houston, who is well known for the song “Don’t Leave Me This Way", dance music star Cece Peniston, who sang “Finally” and Willie Gomez, who performed with Britney Spears, will return to the stage.
At 8 p.m., an after party kicks off on Pratt Street.

A Mile In My Shoes is a chance to move, connect and grow with the Rocky Hill Commision on Inclusion and Innovation.  The walk is Saturday 9-11am at the pavillion at Elm Ridge Park (rain date is Sunday).  Parents with strollers welcome.  Free refreshments and raffle prizes too!

The Hebron Harvest Fair, 347 Gilead St on Friday Noon to Midnight, Saturday 10am to midnight and Sunday 10am to 7:30pm. Tickets $15.  Kids 12 and under are free.  This family-fun event features thrilling midway rides, live music, DockDogs aquatics show, racing pigs, Trapeze Spectacular, Axe Women Loggers, truck & tractor pulls, a demolition derby, animal barns, livestock events, Pork Chop Revue, family activities and contests, arts & crafts, vendors, a Beer & Wine Garden, and tasty carnival eats. On Thursday, fair admission, parking (regularly $5), food bites and rides are just $2 each (10-ride minimum). Admission is $15 Friday - Sunday; $13 online before Sept. 7; $30 for a season pass; free for kids 12 & younger and active military; and free for ages 65+ on Friday till 4 pm. Foodies and families will also enjoy the Lyman Orchards Corn Maze and Cider Donut Festival taking place Saturday and Sunday. From apple cider donut sundaes, pumpkin spice soft service ice cream, pumpkin spice popcorn, kettle corn and steamed, buttery corn on the cob. They’ll have plenty of pick your own apples and pears. There is also free yoga and a drumming circle over the weekend. And … what kid doesn’t like a horse-drawn hayride and face painting. On Friday, there is the “Brew Maze” – with adults enjoying local craft brews during the twilight event – sip, play and find your way through the corn maze.

Beyond King Tut is at the CT Convention Center now through October 15th. Wednesday & Thursdays 11am – 7pm, Friday and Saturdays 11am – 9pm and Sundays 11am – 6pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) A cinematic exhibition that takes guests on an expansive journey through the true story of King Tut, and one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. Don’t miss Noche Latina with the Hartford Athletic at Trinity Health Stadium (Dillon Stadium) in Hartford Saturday.
