COVID test positivity, hospitalizations climb Tuesday

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Connecticut's daily test positivity rate and hospitalizations have both climbed higher in the last day, following weeks of mostly declining metrics.

The daily test positivity Tuesday stands at 3.92%, with 1,357 COVID tests coming back positive out of 34,656 tests administered. That is nearly double the weekend's 2.58% test positivity rate.

On Tuesday, 11 people were admitted to hospitals. There are currently 511 total patients receiving hospital care for the coronavirus. The most hospitalizations are in New Haven County, with 174 patients. The fewest hospitalizations are in Tolland County, at 2 patients.

10 more people died Tuesday. The state's coronavirus death toll now stands at 7,572.
