
BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) - Police have charged a second person in connection with the theft of a safe containing more than $100,000 worth of precious metals and cash. The Bristol Press reports that 30-year-old Samantha Janulawicz, of Bristol, was charged Tuesday with conspiracy and weapons offenses in connection with the theft Christmas Eve from a Burlington home. Her arrest warrant says Janulawicz told a Bristol man suspected of stealing the safe when the home's occupants would be out.
Janulawicz's relatives live in the home and she was with them at a Christmas party at the time. The victim told police the safe contained about $90,000 worth of gold and silver bars and coins and up to $14,000 in cash. Janulawicz was held on $37,500 bond. No defense attorney was listed in court records.
