(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Latest numbers on the flu in Connecticut are out from the state Department of Public Health.
DPH says for the week ending last Saturday, four people died from flu complications, for a total of 29 so far this season.
That's considerably less than the 97 deaths that were logged at this time a year ago.
Seventeen who've died were aged 65 or over.
The department reports there were fewer emergency room visits from the week before, down a tenth of a percentage point.
There have been over 4,500 cases of flu in Connecticut since the season began, about 1,700 that required a trip to the hospital.
New Haven County had the most flu cases, followed by Hartford and Fairfield Counties.
