WATERTOWN, Conn. (AP) - Watertown police say they have made an arrest in the beating death of a 70-year-old widow. Police say 48-year-old William Bayarinas, a homeless man, has been charged with the murder of Maryann Kibbe-Stanisz.  Her body was discovered inside her Watertown home on Jan. 7. Police say she likely had been dead for at least a day. Police said Bayarinas and another man, 49-year-old Paul Crampton, were arrested last week after a burglary at a pizza shop.

Police say a car connected to the burglary belonged to Kibbe-Stanisz. Police say Bayarinas has previous convictions for larceny.

He is being held pending a scheduled Tuesday appearance in Superior Court. He also is charged with home invasion, larceny and burglary.
