
(Groton, Conn./WTIC) - Groton police continue to investigate the discovery of a body over the weekend in Thames River.
It was around 6:40 Saturday evening that police were notified of the discovery near the northbound span of the Gold Star Bridge and the Railroad Bridge nearby.
Police say the body, that of a man of Asian descent, was taken to the chief medical examiner's office for testing.
Investigators say the person wasn't carrying identification and there were no signs of trauma.
Police also say the body was partially decomposed.
