(North Haven, Conn./WTIC) - Police in North Haven have arrested a man they say pulled a knife Sunday during an attempted shoplifting.

Around 4:00 p.m., officers were called to a Target store on Universal Drive.

They say a loss prevention officer attempted to stop the suspect, identified at Christian Rivera-Torres.

They says Rivera-Torres pulled out a knife before running out of the store and across a parking lot.

Police say they later found Rivera-Torres a short distance away from the store, attempting to hide.

He's charged with robbery, larceny, interfering with police, and narcotics possession.

Bond was set at $25,000 and he's due today in Meriden Superior Court.
