(Bridgeport, Conn./WTIC) - A former Trumbull police officer is under arrest in connection with a sexual assault that allegedly took place two years ago.
Under arrest is 41-year-old Michael Gonzalez.
Troopers say they were first alerted last year to the alleged 2017 sexual assault.
Gonzalez is accused of using Trumbull police computers to access information on the accuser, including regarding vehicles and addresses.
While troopers say the statute of limitations on the sexual assault cases had expired, Gonzalez is being charged with two counts of computer crimes.
He's now free on $75,000 and is due in court on July 11.
Gonzalez has since resigned from the Trumbull Police Department.
