(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Widespread flu activity continues in Connecticut.

New figures released today by the state Department of Public Health show there have been 22 deaths associated with influenza since the season started in August.

That's up by eight from numbers released last week.

DPH officials say of those, 14 were 65 years of age and older, seven between 50 and 64, and one between 25 and 49.

New Haven County had the most flu cases thus far with 877.

All told, 11-hundred-47 patients had been hospitalized so far this season.

Health experts continue to urge citizens to get a flu shot if they haven't already.
