NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) — A historic Connecticut lighthouse is scheduled to reopen to the public for the first time since 2015.
The Day reports that the New London Maritime Society will host its first tour of the New London Harbor Light on Wednesday.
The tour comes after years of legal back and forth between the Maritime Society and the city over increased activity at the site.
The city's Zoning Board of Appeals set new rules for the tours in late February, including limiting them to six people no more than five times per day.
Maritime Society Executive Director Susan Tamulevich says a mother and her two children will take the first tour.
Tamulevich says she's happy to be moving forward, and "it's time to put all of this behind us."
