Lawmakers Push New Bill To Combat Age Discrimination

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) - State lawmakers are pushing for legislation to combat age discrimination. 

Representatives Derek Slap and Robyn Porter today discussed a bill that would ensure a date of birth and graduation dates are not solicited on employment applications. 

Porter asserts that information such as this is not necessary to make a viable decision as to whether a person is qualified for a job.

She says the new legislation will not only helps senior citizens, but job seekers of all ages.
