NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC) – New Haven Police are investigating after a 20-year old male suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds Saturday morning.
Shortly before 2 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of gunfire in the area of Sherman Parkway and West Ivy Street in the Newhallville neighborhood.
After arriving, a caller directed police to a gunshot victim at a West Ivy Street residence.
Suffering gunshot wounds to the buttocks, leg and hand, the New Haven resident was transported by ambulance for treatment at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
This is a developing story with an ongoing investigation – police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the New Haven Police Department Bureau at 203-946-6304.
Detectives also stress that callers may remain anonymous.
