(WTIC-AM) -- Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal this morning spoke with Stop & Shop President Mark McGowan about the ongoing strike at the grocery chain.
Blumenthal says the company should offer larger raises, keep health insurance affordable, and preserve employees' pensions.
"Stop and Shop must come to the table with a better offer," Blumenthal said. "I emphasized to top management that the pace and intensity of these negotiations has to be increased."
Blumenthal says the company was noncommital.
Contract negotiations are continuing.
