Body Pulled Out of Water in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ A 48-year-old man was pulled out of the West River near Orange Avenue in New Haven Sunday evening.

The man entered the river to swim after 5 p.m. Sunday and was pulled under due to strong current. Emergency responders from New Haven Fire, Milford, Guilford, and West Haven went to assist in the search.


The body was pulled out of the river around 9:45 p.m. Sonar equipment was used in the recovery process.
