(Bridgeport, Conn./WTIC) - A high-ranking Bridgeport firefighter is under arrest, charged with stealing from the account fire department's minority organization.
Under arrest is 43-year-old fire Captain Darrian Penix.
He is the past president of the Firebird Society of Bridgeport.
Police say on Monday, they were notified by the organization's vice president of a larceny.
Detectives say Penix stole over $15,000 through the Firebirds debit and credit card accounts.
Penix allegedly used the funds for person use, including trips and car repairs.
He is charged with second-degree larceny. Bond was set at $50,000.
