(WTIC-AM) -- Surrounded by supporters on the steps of Hartford City Hall today, Mayor Luke Bronin announced plans to seek a second four-year term.
"We are gonna focus relentlessly on the quality of life issues that matter in every single one of our neighborhoods," Bronin said. "We are going to continue to work witih the superintendent to get our kids in class and strengthen neighborhood schools."
During his first term, Bronin began a campaign for governor, but he later dropped out of the race.
He was asked if he would rule out running for or accepting any other jobs during a second term.
"I love this job. If I have the honor to keep doing it, I plan to be mayor every day of that term," Bronin said.
Video producer Stan McCauley has already declared a run for governor.
